Spyro Gyro Basics
Tracer
The Basic Drawing Tool
When no menu option is selected you are in the basic drawing mode. Experiment and move your fingers either randomly or carefully. There are many ways to interact with Pixi and this quick guide will help you get started.
Finger Gestures
Touch the screen and move your finger horizontally or vertically. Some of the Pixi modes allow two and three finger interaction. Some modes allow pinching and spreading. You will find your favorite ways to interact with this multi-touch interface. Best results come when you move your fingers slowly.
The Menu Zone
Touch the bottom middle of the screen to bring up the menu. You can select a menu item when its icon has rotated to the center position. When selected, the icon will highlight and remain on screen. Your screen touch will now effect the selected mode (instead of the basic drawing shape). Click on the icon again when you are finished and Pixi will go back to the basic drawing mode.
Controlling the Tracer Arms
Think of the tracer as rotating arms and points that "draw" on the screen. You control the number of arms (up to three) plus the radius and speed of the movement. Move one or two fingers across the screen and control two tracer arms independently. Add a third finger and you are controlling the radius of the third arm!
Resetting the Pattern
The options for your design are almost endless but sometimes you want to start over. Shake your phone and your design will go back to the default Pixi.
The Flick
When you are in a menu mode you can touch the icon and flick the highlight either up or down on the screen. An upward flick removes the current settings for that mode and allows you to start over. Flicking the icon down turns off your current settings and by touching the icon again they are re-applied.
